Sensirion Students TechDay
Sensirion Students TechDay returned on October 23rd. The event took place at the Sensirion headquarters in Staefa, Zurich. Several students joined our experienced specialists for a day and dived into the world of sensor technology by tackling complex challenges using creativity and technical know-how.
Sensirion is constantly striving to integrate new technologies into its existing products and to develop new sensor solutions within its core competencies. The aim of the Students TechDay was to develop an idea for a sensor and to create a business model canvas for it. The students worked in a team supported by experienced engineers and presented their ideas to a selected audience.
The company presentation as well as the tour of the Sensirion headquarters provided them with the information needed for the project. During the networking reception, the opportunity was given to learn more about Sensirion and career opportunities.

Review of Previous Editions

"I was impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment the participants showed while working together at the Students TechDay 2018. The event resulted in some great, innovative food for thought." - Marc von Waldkirch, CEO Sensirion

"I think that the Students TechDay really hit the mark. The students got the opportunity to learn more about sensor technology and develop an accurate idea of how sensors work using the available resources. For us, it was also interesting to gain inspiration and to exchange ideas with a diverse group of talented individuals." - Daniel Lehmann, R&D Engineer
Sensirion Lab Ideas - Get Inspired
Before TechDay, you can get inspired by our developer website. The page provides support for the implementation of your own projects with Sensirion's innovative environmental and flow sensors.

Sensirion's differential pressure sensor SDP3x is well suited to measure the heart rate with a sleep tracker placed below the bed mattress - without the need of an inflated mat. Explore now.

Wearables measuring stress, emotions and moods are an emerging trend. Autonomous driving for example require knowledge of a human being's emotional state or comfort feeling. A very sensitive relative humidity sensor can detect the perspiration level. Thus, it is possible to detect emotions by measuring the sweat evaporated from a human's Skin. Explore now.

In areas where the temperature drops close to freezing during the night, the windshield of a car is very often covered with a layer of ice in the morning. The formation of ice can be estimated well with an RH/T sensor, which allows a notification to be sent to the driver. Explore now.

A very sensitive pressure sensor can detect the burst of air generated by breaking windows or the opening and closing of doors. Thus, it is possible to detect an intrusion event happening somewhere in the building. Explore now.
