The technical infrastructure of buildings and the accurate measurement of environmental influences form the basis for a pleasant indoor climate. Using Sensirion’s proven sensor solutions, we help ensure energy-efficient operation of family homes, industrial facilities, and entire building complexes also increasing the level of comfort. Often, the interrelationships in buildings are particularly complex, so that finding the right parameters to measure is very difficult.
This is where our sensor experts can help with their many years of experience. With our wide-ranging knowledge of sensor technology, we are able to support our customers and help them save energy, reduce operating costs, and improve the indoor climate. For example, our differential pressure sensors ensure optimum heat recovery from the exhaust air of buildings, thus substantially minimizing energy consumption. Today, our sensor technology can reduce a building's current energy consumption by 10 percent.
Our Latest Sensor Innovation
Proven and Improved
The differential pressure sensors of the SDP800 series are the reliable and cost-effective solution for precise air flow measurements in HVAC applications. The sensors are the result of more than 15 years of experience in measuring air flow to millions of HVAC systems, car engines and patients. They consequently utilize the successful features of the SDP600 differential pressure sensor and come in the same proven housing, which enables easy integration. The next generation chip combines outstanding accuracy and long-term stability with extended functionality and higher measurement speed for even lower costs.

Our Expertise - Your Benefit
Many Years of Experience with Burner Control
Substantial savings in fuel consumption and reduction exhaust gases can be achieved through burner control. Therefore we focus on the outlet temperature, and the precise volume supply. Our knowledge about the optimum interaction of these two parameters significantly improves the overall system performance.
Buildings account for 40% of worldwide energy consumption. A suitable building control system can substantially reduce this consumption. We strive to view sensors in the overall building context and implement them accordingly, since the optimal interaction of all components in the complete building system is essential for achieving significantly better efficiency.
Profound Expertise in Heat Recovery
Unused warm exhaust air is lost energy. Through the correct use of sensors around 90 percent of energy from exhaust air can be recovered. For this reason, many customers trust in our expertise as well as our sensors and warm the supply air of buildings using the residual energy of the exhaust air: the air is heated, for example, in winter and cooled in summer.
Long-Term Stable and Free from Drift Issues
Sensirion's differential pressure sensors are based on a thermal measuring principle. Thus, our products have excellent long-term stability and are free from drift issues. Moreover, our sensors are characterized by a high degree of reproducibility, i.e. the device-to-device comparability of different measurements is very accurate.
Fully Calibrated and Temperature-Compensated
Our differential pressure sensors as well as our temperature and humidity sensors are fully calibrated and temperature-compensated. Thus, the products can be directly integrated into the devices, so recalibration and temperature compensation is no longer necessary.
Specialized in Demand-Controlled Ventilation – Variable Air Volume (VAV)
Reducing airflows in buildings leads to noticeably lower operating costs. This results not only from the reduced energy consumption of the ventilator fans but also from the lower consumption of the air treatment system (heating/cooling/dehumidification/humidification) and the longer service life of the filters. Variable air/volume flow is essential in buildings today. It needs to be regulated depending on air quality, room temperature, and humidity, and the building occupancy must also be taken into account. This has been a focus for us at Sensirion for years.
We Consider Buildings as Systems
Buildings are responsible for 40 percent of global energy consumption. Using the appropriate building control system, energy consumption can be significantly reduced. To achieve this objective, the sensors must be seen in connection with the building as a whole. For us, this includes looking at the interaction between the indoor and outdoor areas, the materials that are used inside and outside of the building, the function of the building, and, of course, the people who use it. Our knowledge concerning the optimum use of sensors in buildings makes a decisive contribution toward the more efficient operation of buildings while also achieving greater comfort for the occupants.
