In just a few years, Sensirion has become a leading international company with about 600 employees. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, the CEO and the two founders and current Chairmen of the Board find it important to maintain a close relationship with employees. So it comes as no surprise that they regularly show up at the weekly Friday after-work beer and eat at the staff restaurant, where they can talk to employees. They sleep in the dormitory like everyone else at the annual company trip, take photographs at the New Year’s dinner and bake Christmas cookies to vie for the title of “Sensirion Baker”. This culture of communication on equal terms and “co-existence” is exemplified in the company’s flat hierarchical structure.
