Team Leader Micromachining
Sports Team: Borussia Mönchengladbach
Destination: New Zealand
Thomas Bittner joined Sensirion as a Process Manager in 2013 and is now a team leader in micromachining. The qualified industrial electrician has held various management positions, primarily in the semiconductor and automotive industry, and has extensive experience in operations and quality control.
It’s important to me that my employees work together and function as a team.
Thomas’ day follows a routine: when he comes into the office in the morning, he starts with the production planning and coordinates the shift handover. He discusses any special incidents or issues with the shift supervisor, after which he can focus on supporting his employees in their work. As team leader, Thomas is in constant exchange with his team. It’s important to him that everyone gets along and the team works well together. When he feels that they need a little support, he’s happy to organize events or training outside the office to strengthen the team spirit.
As team leader, Thomas is also responsible for the cleanliness of the cleanrooms. Through strict compliance with work procedures related to cleanliness and conduct of regular inspections, Sensirion’s cleanrooms are ISO 6 certified. The cleanrooms generate smaller projects on a regular basis, such as revision of the manuals for the highly complex machines in the cleanrooms. What Thomas enjoys about his work in general is that every day brings a new challenge. For example, the ESD protective suits and shoes had to be redesigned last year to reduce the average particle content in the cleanrooms even further. Since the new suits and shoes were introduced, evaluations show a significantly higher degree of cleanliness in the cleanrooms. So Thomas’ project was a great success, which naturally filled him with pride.
At Sensirion, Thomas particularly appreciates the open atmosphere and interaction between employees, especially the various social events that take place at Sensirion throughout the year to support this spirit
