Vincent Hess has been a senior product manager at Sensirion since 2014. But he actually joined the company eight years prior to this - following the completion of his degree in mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich, he started at Sensirion as an R&D project manager for humidity and temperature sensors.
As a project manager, Vincent worked on product development and production processes. He played a key role in the development of our condensation sensors for the automotive industry. The humidity and temperature sensor developed by Vincent has sold millions of units and is now a standard feature in many vehicles. Vincent continues to take pride in the fact that these sensors have been so successful on the market - one in five cars produced around the world is now fitted with a Sensirion sensor.
After completing his projects in R&D, Vincent wanted to take on a new challenge, which is why he was appointed product manager for humidity sensors in 2011. His first project involved the market launch of the SHTC1 humidity sensor, which is used in the consumer electronics sector. His work as a product manager is extremely varied and Vincent is responsible for both new and existing products. He first evaluates market requirements, before defining the criteria for new products and planning the long-term development of the Sensirion humidity and temperature sensor product range. A large part of his work consists of market analyses and evaluating innovations. This involves business trips and visits to customer sites and subsidiaries around the world. Vincent enjoys the market-oriented direction that his work takes, but he also values the technical side of his job and the close collaboration with the various departments of the R&D division.
Vincent has been a senior product manager since 2014, which involves extensive coaching duties. In this role, Vincent trains less experienced product managers with the objective of imparting an efficient way of working, avoiding errors and passing on the methodologies that he has developed. Vincent considers this aspect of his work to be extremely important, as it lays the foundations for the ongoing success of the company.
I enjoy the atmosphere at Sensirion and like working with my colleagues.
Above all else, the main attraction of working at Sensirion for Vincent is the ability to make the most of his professional skills and make an impact as an individual. Sensirion offers him the chance to have an active say in designing the products of tomorrow.
