Sofia Deloudi wrote her dissertation at the ETH Zurich and then worked in research and as a teacher of crystallography. After three years she was looking for a new challenge and moved from the abstract world of quasicrystals to the very real world of industry. "I wanted to work for a company that was active in various fields of application, had a wide variety of products in its portfolio and that contributed to a more energy-efficient and secure world. With Sensirion I immediately found the ideal employer," she explains.
Sofia started her career in Marketing & Sales in Sensirion's Liquid Flow Sensors department. After a year there she worked to support the critical final phase of a major project in the Mobile & Consumer business. Despite significant challenges and some intensely busy times she liked the job very much which is why she then transferred to that department as a key account manager. Now she is responsible for looking after international mobile customers.
Sofia considers it important to be in an environment where employees work together and support each other, adding that in an "elbow society" nothing can be achieved. "When you work for Sensirion, everyone in the company has your back and supports you, across all functions and departments.
Then we all pull together. The developer will suddenly become a salesperson and your boss cares about the customers. I like this cohesion very much.
Not only direct co-workers on your projects, but also colleagues from other project groups will help you wherever they can." The fact that everyone at Sensirion is cut from the same cloth shows, especially in stressful situations.
