Favorite place at Sensirion: Rooftop of Building A
Thomas studied electrical engineering at ETH Zurich and joined Sensirion directly after completing his master's degree. His first position was in software and hardware development. In the seven years that he has worked at Sensirion, his responsibilities have changed a number of times. Since 2011 he has been the team leader of a group of 15 software engineers, developing software for the production of our latest generation of sensors and products.
Thomas's main tasks as a team leader include, on the one hand, resource planning, which takes place in consultation with the development and production departments. On the other hand, he must create a strategy for his software team: "For this, I evaluate technologies, software architectures and designs in relation to Sensirion's objectives and thus lay the foundations for our future," he explains. His decisions have long-term effects: "Decisions made today may take a year to reach their full impact. I need to look beyond our current projects, anticipate future developments and align our next steps accordingly."
Thomas appreciates the opportunity to actively influence specific projects.
At Sensirion we have the chance to make our own mark from the very beginning.
He emphasizes the importance of his work environment: "A professional software environment on the cutting edge of technology, as well as our dynamic team of skilled and helpful colleagues motivates me every day to do my best."
