Sensirion Supports the Vision of the FREO2 Foundation

Every health facility that cares for in-patients must have oxygen. That is the vision of the FREO2 Foundation and Sensirion supports this vision.
Pneumonia is responsible for more childhood deaths every year than any other disease. Crucial in its treatment is concentrated oxygen. FREO2 Foundation is a small group of physicists and epidemiologists, creating and testing inventions to improve access to medical oxygen in sub-Saharan Africa. The main goal of their work is to reduce the global burden of pneumonia.
After approximately seven years work, FREO2 Foundation starts the clinical trials and deployment in Mozambique, Uganda and Malawi. To record the exact flow of oxygen – a key component of the research, flow sensors are needed. Sensirion provides FREO2 Foundation with its SFM3000 flow sensors, supporting their goal to treat much more pneumonia patients in future.
